Yes, the infamous Boracay+Palawan beach at Quezon province.
It was my first out of town with my bf and we actually planned it within a week time. He just did a few "google-ing" and then, poof! We made it to Borawan.
A fair and early warning to everyone: this blog is picture heavy. The beach is so breathtaking, so i'll let the pictures do all the talking. Enjoy!
You'll be welcomed by rock formations and white beach
The sand is white. made of powdered rocks, corals and pebbles. The sand is not like that of Boracay, but the small smooth pebbles lingering between your toes sure are reminder that the island is as virgin as it can be.
There's my boyfriend..teehee.. mind the huge rock as back ground.
Pristine beach
Borawan is perfect for out of noisy city life type of vacation. The water is clear, the waves are calm, the sand is cool, the air is fresh, and the sun is warm.
I remember myself lying in the sand, letting the waves land my back. My Borawan experience would really be hard to beat. It's so close to nature at its bare form... almost spiritual.
We will sure go back to Borawan.
How to get to Borawan Island (from: http://www.pinoyadventurista.com/2011/01/travel-tips-how-to-get-to-borawan-and.html)
1. Take a bus bound for Lucena and get off at the Grand Terminal. There are bus companies that has regular trips to Lucena. We took Jac Liner in Buendia, fare is around 220 pesos and travel time is about 3-4 hours.
2. From the grand terminal, take a mini-bus bound for Unisan and get off atBrgy. Marao in the town of Padre Burgos. Fare is about 40 pesos and travel time is around 45 minutes.
3. Look for Vista Playa Restaurant and ask where you can rent a boat going to these beaches. Prices depend on how many are you in the group and how many islands you wish to visit (600 - 1,500 pesos).
Me and my bf actually took a different route going to the Island. It just so happen that his uncle has a fish farm at Hinguinwin and has a fiber glass boat. So, we had a boat ride from the river going to the island. We even had a good look of the mangroves there.. :)
