Review: Hayan Korea Snail Ampule

Alrighty… so here we go again to my attempt to review  a product that significantly affected my life. I said that because I purchased it with my hard earned anda (money).

I believe everything that I purchase is significant part of me because:
  •       I put a whole lot of thoughts in buying it… because I’m a cheap pack rat. I go for cheapsycutesy stuff… because I’m in a search for more sulit stuff, you know “value for money”;
  •        It puts a big dent on my tight pocket;
  •        I spent time checking out reviews and info on a certain product; and
  • .      I promise to share my thoughts thru my blog.. yeah… my blog. Sarap banggitin hehe…

So with the review,

Product: Hayan Korea Snail Ampule

Manufacturer: Hayan Korea

Skin condition before using the product: bombarded with acne scars, dull and oily skin. (may pinagdadaanan and fez ko)

Hopes: to lighten scars, brighten complexion

Hope not: breakouts…. Grrrr

I asked the SA if they have a product to lessen acne scars.
She smiled, pointed on a green bottle on the sample tray, “eto po ma’am”
I was puzzled because I’m honestly expecting for whitening, peeling, or acne-prone sort of product. But no, she pointed at a green bottle labeled, snail ampule.

Confused on what ampule is… looks like alien word to me, I asked the SA “ano ‘to?”

SA: pang lahat na po yan ma’am. Para sa scars and moisturizer, pang improve na rin po ng skin. (for over-all skin improvement)

Jen: oh, talaga. Magkano? (oh, really? For how much?)
Nakakatawa kasi presyo talaga ang tinanong ko… kaloka!

Sale Price: 340
Regular Price: 500+

So, with much thinking (to what ampule is) and high hopes in this product, I prayed for God’s guidance to bless me with this product’s promises. I grabbed my wallet, bid my goodbyes to sad Ninoys and poof! SA handed me this.

So that’s the story how I got the HAYAN KOREA Snail Ampule .

The claims:

"Aesthetic Moisture Ampule
Hayan Snail Reviving Ampule Serum

Hayan aesthetic moisture ampule line changes irregular skin tone and dark complexion to bright and clear skin.

Characteristics: Helps make dark and irregular skin tone pure and clear, it has snail mucus which has mucin that enhancing reviving ability. This can give gloss and elasticity to the skin which gives a feeling of brightening effect (skin becomes gradually whiter)

Instructions: Use pipette to a drop and use fingers in tapping motion until skin absorbs it.

Ingredients: deionized water, glycerin, dipropylene glycol, ethanol, betaine, hyaluronic acid, natto gum/pectin, peg-60 hydrogenated castor oil, methylparaben, triethanolamine, carbomer, phenoxyethanol, allantoin, hydroxyethylcellulose, disodium edta, perfume, snail slime filtratation, water."

Evaluation.

Packaging:
The green bottle gives it a healthy impression, which the product promises.  Colored glass bottle capped with a bent glass dropper is genius. Usage of the product is clearly considered in developing the packaging.

Sensory:
No strong scent which is good, to think that the product claims to be from snail mucus. I expected the product to be thick and slimy, but no. thin mucousy liquid, enough to be evenly spread out to skin. Thicker than saliva, thinner than phlegm. Sorry I can’t find better words or metaphor to describe this product. Hey! Moreover, the product claims to be form animal secretion, so what do you expect? Hehe, deal with it!

Application:
The product could be easily applied due to its liquid form. The product somewhat takes time before being absorbed by the skin. After applying the product on the skin, instruction says to pat skin for further absorption, I did, though it feels sticky.. I feel like patting on diluted clear glue on my face.
I used almost half of the bottle by the time I’m writing this review.

The verdict:
It does moisturize, I feel my skin supple and soft morning after using this product. Elasticity of my skin improved. It does nothing on my oiliness. I think that’s ok, at least it didn’t worsen it. The scar erasing factor is a letdown for me. It didn’t lessen or do anything about it.
Maybe… just maybe… my scars are too many to handle or half a bottle is not enough to heal my scars or it might work to new scars…. Maybe.
Will I buy this again? Maybe not. But I will finish the bottle because it’s a good moisturizer. I’ll use it on my feet since it also needs an over-all improvement haha.
I’ll keep on lurking at their kiosk. They also have good stuff!

Stay tuned for more reviews

Ano ba talaga ang ampule? Is it really a word? What’s the difference between ampule and serum?

Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
