Review: Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion.

Good day lovies!

Today I’ll be reviewing Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion.

Okay, so I’m still in my journey of finding my Holy Grail face product for my troubled skin. My stash is being piled up with skin care products, primer, bb creams, foundations, moisturizers, peeling gels, so on and so forth. While browsing some good stuff on the net, i stumbled upon lots and lots of blogs about this product and it looks promising. Being a gullible me, i took a trip to nearest laneige boutique to have the BB cushion. The price is steep. Yeah steep. I have a regular paying job and i can’t afford high end products, still i save up for them thinking “if i should find my HG somewhere, i must have funds to afford it.” Enough of my blabbing...

Tadaah. Yep it’s the refill. It’s cheaper at Php950 while the compact is Php1950 with free refill. I don’t get the “Free Refill” thing while obviously you’re not having it for free. The numbers clearly saying that you get the compact at Php50.00. that’s it! Simple numbers.... At least, it’s not misleading.

So it’s contained in a cute box with neon pink interior (sounds like a car). It’s super pretty, but really? I’m not buying the product because of the box.

The packaging is white plastic tub with lid. The lid is flimsy and you really need the compact if you want the product to be secured. It contains 15g of BB liquid soaked in a cushion. Based on what i see, it’s a sponge soaked with bb cream for faster application. The applicator is genius. It’s sturdy and almost rubbery, so very minimal product goes to the applicator.

Upon application, you will feel a cool sensation which you don’t get to any other make-up product. It’s because of their “snow technology” that they incorporate into their product, True to its claims.
I got the #21 which i think is lighter than my color. I really don’t know if im acidic, but makeup usually oxidizes on my face leaving tad darker color than the original. I learned my lesson, im now on applying it in every purchase. And im right! After 20 minutes, the color blends in perfectly! Yay! I received a compliment on the first day of using it, and my skin really got a bad breakout that time. It lasted 6 hours and never caked. I didn’t need to reapply makeup the whole day. I did few blotting, though. Yeah i sweat, and my face is oily. Drying was also instant. So the performance is really not that bad! PLUS I DIDN’T BREAK OUT!!!

So there, i finished my refill tub. Im a happy laneige user and in love with it!
Lasting power       5/5
Oil control          4.5/5
Ease of use        4.8/5
Value for money    3/5

The only down fall of the product is the attempt on giving innovative packaging and application method of the product. The refill lid doesn’t really close the product.  Even with the compact, the opening of the tub will not give you control on air exposure of the product that could result to immediate drying of it. Since the product is presented as sponge soaked, the drying could also happen within its medium. In the long run, the BB stuff will be left in the sponge to dry instead of your face. I would prefer it in a pump bottle.

Tip: flip the sponge to get the product in the bottom of the tub.

There was also a point in time that i’m using the sponge as the applicator. That’s how much i want to get the last drop of it. I even attempted to cut it in half, but i’m so afraid that the scissor will get the most of it instead of my face.

I finished the tub within a month.
Will i repurchase? OF COURSE! But not anytime soon.

While in the boutique, i was able to try their lipsticks, and they gave me sample of Sleeping Pack_Ex.
Watch out for the review!

Love lots!

Review: 4U2 dreamGirl Lovelight BB Powder SPF 15 PA++.

Hey yeah lovies!

Now, I’ll be reviewing 4U2 dreamGirl Lovelight BB Powder SPF 15 PA++.

I’ve been seeing this product at WATSONS. I’m just so afraid of trying it out because it looked like face powder for high school students. I’ve been hearing buzz about this powder in the blogosphere and H*ll yeah, it’s true! I’m so glad i finally got the courage of having this powder... still not my HG, though. But, i’m sure it’s going to be a keeper.

The Claims
“Confidence Builder through All Day Complexion Perfection. Exclusive formulation for even and natural skin tones and oil control. With sun protection, too. Be a dreamGirl!”

Okay, so it doesn’t promise much like fair, glowing, velvet, silky, dewy, satin, fresh, sheer, radiant, white, healthy, rosy, etc etc etc. But, it’s does state some big ass claims: Confidence and Perfection! This tiny winy powder got some big balls to claim those words.

Confidence-the main purpose of makeup is to boost self confidence.
Perfection- flawlessness.

Let’s see....

 The Experience
Gosh it looks like a toy, super girly, tiny, and pink. It has some drawings of cupcakes and candies and cake and ice cream. It’s trying to look sweet and cute.. it’s just too much.  Some gals like pink and tiny and cute. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s wrapped in paper or with diamonds as long as the product delivers. For Php194.00, honestly, i don’t expect much from this tiny baby.

The compact is made of lightweight plastic with small mirror. The sponge is not bad, like those used for dual foundations. The powder is finely milled, easily transferred from pact to sponge. I found using a brush gives sheer coverage and sponge application is for buildable coverage. Gosh this tiny baby is really good. HAHA. I got the no.2 and the shade is a tad darker than me, still it’s not that bad. It doesn’t have any weird smell, it doesnt have perfume in it.

I immediately love this BB powder! I’m so OK with the size. The small size is perfect in small pouch. The mirror is too small but it’s still ok, I don’t mind grabbing a bigger mirror.

Retouching was done every couple of hours. Reasonable oil control. And the thing that really surprised me is it never caked! Oh yeah... i get oily and stuff but i never looked patchy crinkle cookie! Haha! even if i had it in layers to cover my blemishes, the powder just melts on my skin. Whenever i check the mirror, i don’t get frustrated with my oiliness... felt like oily in a good way. Hahaha! Is there such thing? The powder never sinks to my acne scars and pores. Keber sa oiliness. HAHAHA

Obviously, i’m a happy user! The powder immediately promoted as my daily powder taking the place of my in2it pressed powder (review coming soon). I’ve been using this for a week and i didn’t get major pimple! Yay! Yay! Yay!

So the verdict:       Confidence:  YES
Perfection: no... just a small no hehe. It’s not a bad no. perfection to
                                                        me is just so... Unattainable.
Lasting power       4.5/5
Oil control           4/5
Ease of use          4/5
Value for money     5/5

The powder doesn’t have a refill. Practical reasons, it should have refills. But, I can say that you would not really need it. By the time you hit the pan, you might be needing a new compact (simply because its flimsy ^_^ ) and hey! Php 194.00 is really not bad.

I’ll update soon as i have development in using this powder (cracks, allergies, breakout, oxidation, weather shift, etc)

Will i repurchase? Hell YEAH! I’m getting the no.1 variant
I recommend this powder to those with troubled skin like me... to build up confidence, girls   saving up for facials, and girls with tight budget. Just give it a try guys and tell me your experience. *_*

I’ll be waiting <3.

Love lots!

Review: Color Hydration Lip Shade From Penshoppe

Penshoppe Lipstick.

Yes! Penshoppe has its makeup line already.

Now, I’ll try to give my two scents on their lipstick.

Prologue:

I was searching for a peachy, natural looking, modest, and youthful lipstick. Oo, mejo demanding ako sa lipstick. And I read in some blogs and webpages that I should not splurge on lipstick since it should be tipped to the bin in not more than 6 months… and since I’m a novice to this cosmetic stuffs, I pledged to myself that I will not splurge on a lipstick.

I strut on the walks of SM MOA… im finding good ones at different stores, but I still felt that they are a bit pricey. So with not much hopes, I entered penshoppe to try some summer tees. I was surprised when I saw their makeup buffet. Sorry wala akong camera that time kaya hindi ko napicturan.

I tried different shades… and I fell in love with this one.

I missed some of the marks. It’s bright, loud, and pink! But I got one thing, youthful! Hehe

So I checked out. For 100+, I got a new lipstick and I’m happy. J

Review.
Product:
Manufacturer : Penshoppe
Packaging:  the silver tube with clear cap is a win win for glam and punk.  Ang cute lang talaga.

no strong sent, highly pigmented, not enough moisture.

The lipstick glides smoothly though it leaves some patches on my lips. Maybe because my lips are so dry or I need to exfoliate my lips. It lasted pretty good 3-4 hours.

Value for money:  10/10

I find this my grab and go lipstick every time I go to work or go out.

Morning After: Jet Peel AS.

I had my first ever Jet Peel Experience. And it was unparalleled!

I was not told what to do after my treatment. Unlike other facial clinic where they say not to wet your face, attendants told me nothing. So that’s what I did… nothing.

Morning after,  my face is super oily. Lagi naman akong oily, mainit pa. When I washed my face, don’t feel the hard bumps on my cheeks anymore. Some are left on my chin though. Obviously it’s because of the pricking done yesterday. After drying, my face is not brighter or lighter in anyway.  I can’t even say if my face gets smoother or softer because I refuse to just touch my face. I still have scars, lots of it. It didn’t get lighter or anything.

For its claims on wrinkles: I don’t have those yet.

 Any major improvement: none.

I’m really thinking of Spanish peel right now….

V.E. Eusebio Skin and Laser Center. Jet Peel AS review

I know… bigatin ang dating pag sinabi mong Jet Peel. It sounded like one major procedure that promises to improve skin condition. Well it does, many write ups said that it could improve fine lines and wrinkles. It even claims to be good for acne.

You can go google “Jet Peel” and you will see gazillions of claims and research on what Jet peel is.

What I had is Jet Peel + Acne Surgery.
Pagpasok ko palang sa clinic. I was not welcomed at all. My appointment is for 4pm. I arrived 10min early. Tinitigan muna ako ng mga receptionist na naka scrubs. Asked for my name and if I already have a record. I said sa ibang branch may record na ako. The receptionist handed me an index card, I supplied it with basic info: name, age, contact details.

One attendant shouted “JET PEEL AS DAW!”

Pakiramdam ko nasa fast food ako.

Right after, another attendant escorted me to their procedure room.
She gets a face towel from a small cabinet, left it in the counter and instructed me to wash my face then pointed out a dispensing bottle.  “yan ang towel.”

Parang cetaphil lang din yung cleanser…. Lahat ng pinuntahan kong skin clinic yung ganung cleanser ang gamit. Hindi bumubula pero madulas.

After washing my face, I used the old dry face towel on the counter.  While patting my face I asked the attendant what procedure I will undergo to, she blurted “JET PEEL DAW”.

Everybody seems to be shouting!

I asked one more, “ano pa?”

She stared blankly at me.

I said “sabi ni doc, may extraction din daw ako.”

She answered, “oo nga”

I’m in a point of running back home. Feeling ko walang ka resperespeto sa customer ang mga tao.

The main reason why I’m giving this clinic its chance or my chance on this clinic for this matter is that my first consultation with Dra.Eusebio is quite effective. She gave me some oral medication, anti-histamine, erythromycin solution, an expensive topical gel, and a very expensive sunblock. It was costly but I saw improvement on my skin in just about 3 days.

So back with the story,

“para kang inii-Spray”

Whissh.

So yun nga yung jet peel.

After 5 min of swirling that water and air jet on my face, it stopped. She wiped my face. Her hand was heavy. She sprayed again. Seems like same velocity for me. I don’t know it may halo na gamot yung water… I really don’t know. And the attendant doesn’t seem to care to tell me what the heck she’s doing on my face.  Maybe bad breath s’ya… just maybe.

Then she shut down the machine.

Tapos na? I felt …. Walang nabago. Walang lang. pakiramdam ko lang nabasa at hinipan ang mukha ko.

She opened the light on the magnifying glass that facial centers have. That’s the signal that Acne surgery is about to commence… I’m ready.

She wiped my face. grabe ang bigat talaga ng kamay nya. Parang nageescoba ng toilet.

She pricked my forehead! Hell yeah! She pricked my forehead. Walang warning. Walang paapaalam. I felt violated! Grabe. Wala munang steaming  or whatever.
She’s harsh. Then she moved her way to my right cheek. When she senses that I’m not comfortable, she said ,”hindi ko na tatanggalin yung malalalim, masasaktan ka lang.”

Aba @#$%!!

I answered, “ano bang sabi sayo ni doc?”

“I priprick kita pero hindi ko na tatanggalin yung malalalim kasi nga masasaktan ka lang”

“ewan ko, kung anong sinabi sayo ni doktora, yun nalang gawin mo.”

“ang dami saka ang titigas pa”

She showed me a tissue with my extracted black heads.

I shut my eyes. I don’t even care if that woman will get a knife and kill me. I know she’s pissed. I am double pissed!

Another attendant came in and nakipag tsismisan! P@#$#$%&! Talagang nagchismisan sila sa harapan ko. I opened my eyes, I  stared at the  attendant.  Hindi man lang sya nagreact! Tuloy pa rin ang chismisan nung dalwa. 5 min siguro yun.

I’m triple pissed.

She extracted blackheads on my left cheek. She gets back to finish her business on my right cheek. Then my nose, she said “kaya pa?”

I replied a stiff, “Oo.”

She continued extracting black and white heads on my nose and then my chin.
Turned off the light, she gets a gauze form a stainless steel, placed it on my face, Turned on that laser wand. And then she literally waved that wand on my face. Her hand was so heavy that the gauze was moving all over my face. It was a mere 30 seconds.

“Tapos na”, she said.

I answered “nanjan na ba si Doktora?”

She shooked her head.

I looked myself in the mirror. And just before I blink, she said “mapula pa yan dahil sa pricking, matatanggal din yan.”

“Alam ko, hindi ko first time,” I said.
OMG!

I had my first facial when I was in 2nd year HS. I had good and bad ones. I had my acne surgery from a derma one time, I cried not because it’s painful but because I am so down and hopeless. I even had glycolic peel at Belomed and I cried like a baby that time. But this time, at V.E. Eusebio’s Skin and Laser Center, I didn’t even shed a tear on that pricking session.

Right after the procedure, I went to see Dra. Eusebio. I haven’t fully entered the room yet, she said that my face improved. I attest to that. And I guess she will say that because I’m religiously following her very direction.
She said that I have to get another jet peel next week.
Weekly jet peel??? That’s crazy on the budget!
She said to continue my medications.

It was the doctor that only called me Ma’am. The fact that I’m half her age she’s the doctor, she doesn’t have to say that to me.

I went out and asked the receptionist if I can have my appointment to be done at their branch at SM Calamba. She said yes.

Pakiramdam ko minadali yung procedure sa akin. Wala pang 1 hr. tapos na ako sa Jet Peel AS. Kahit naman dun sa local facial center sa amin, kahit hindi mahal ang singil nila ok naman ang service.
I think I’ll give myself one last try at their clinic in SM. If they are consistent, then I’ll be walking the other way. To think, I still have one week to see if my skin will improve because of this Jet Peel AS before I conclude something

V.E. Eusebio Skin and Laser Center is located at Junction, Los Banos, Laguna and at 3F SM Calamba. Compared to other skin clinics, they are cheaper. 250 for facial (they call it Complete Facial), 550 facial with mask, 1000 for peels, and they also offer 5+1free packages.

For Php 1,350.00, I had Jet Peel AS. I can’t say that I’m not happy with the treatment. I’m not even sure if I can say it’s a treatment.  But obviously it’s SUPER cheap compared to 4.5K jet peel form Belomed.

I don’t know…
I think I still can give them another shot.

I think I should give myself one more shot at this clinic.

coming soon: my VE Eusebio Calamba Branch Experience
